Re: Open source msm7k camera drivers

Nopy, a bug while using the camera :

Steps to reproduce :

1) Take a photo using the camera
2) Click on the photo just taken in the upper right corner and then in the following screen delete it.
3) Press the back button to return to the camera app.
4) The camera app freezes, preview works but no button presses are registered, cannot exit the app, cannot return to home screen. Reboot is the only way out of this.

Can anyone else confirm this please ?

Re: Open source msm7k camera drivers

I don't seem to have abesh's problem, but the torch doesn't work.
Awesome features you've implemented though! I want the 4 features you mentioned as well =P

Re: Open source msm7k camera drivers

@davyu I agree. Torch does not work !

Re: Open source msm7k camera drivers

Put :

chmod a+rw /dev/msm_camera/msm_camera0

into some init script that runs on start.
Nopy said it will be fixed by next nightly.

Try with an empty picture directory.
Nopy, the exposure settings should be reversed.

+ exposure should make the image brighter, while - exposure should make it darker. smile
It's possible, i know nothing about camera, just ported samsung m4mo v4l driver.
I will compare with N1 camera.

This is now fixed on github, with strobe feature added

There is some way to change the energy control widget to use the new torch feature instead of the one used now?

Re: Open source msm7k camera drivers
All m4mo settings from I8320 v4l driver are now in GAOSP.

  - Auto focus mode
  - Exposure compensation
  - Scene mode
  - Effects
  - Iso
  - Meter mode
  - Saturation
  - Sharpness
  - White balance
  - Wide Dynamic range
  - Image stabilization control
  - Face detection ( seems to not work with I7500 m4mo firmware, but sensor response are correct, need more test )
  - Zoom

Now i will work on adding exif header
its raining features on the camera
thanks so much smile

GAOSP !!! Rocks !!!

Re: Open source msm7k camera drivers

Yes, and in the final version we will have a camera which makes coffee and serves it with donuts. tongue

(Just kidding or not, take a guess), back to the topic - yep really nice features indeed (to have of course), but didn't try it (installed the new nightly yet). Call me lazy. tongue

Just carry on nopy, make the camera do awesome stuff (look the begging of the post) big_smile

Re: Open source msm7k camera drivers

deleting the camera directory just solved the camera issue temporarily. after 2-3 more photos the same thing happens, i.e.: camera gets freezed after taking picture, any solution?

Re: Open source msm7k camera drivers

First of all: Amazing work nopy!

I'm missing an option for saving pictures to external SD-card though, will that be implemented?

Big thanks!

Re: Open source msm7k camera drivers

Camera works fine.
Video recording max. 30 min!. could it be more???

Great work nopy, cheers and carry on...

There was some bug in focus management, should be fixed on next nightly.

The Picture size selection is now fixed . http://bit.ly/bYPB0X

Only the exif headers are missing now to have a feature complete open source driver.

Re: Open source msm7k camera drivers

nopy,

Any plans to update the camera-overlay (the one with options like GPS, WhiteBalance etc)  so that frequently used options are easily accessible ?

Re: Open source msm7k camera drivers

thnks nopy..we all know u will remove this bug nd  improve more camera interface...

Re: Open source msm7k camera drivers

I am not using latest nightly, so this bug might be fixed....

BUG: If you open a picture that you recored(in preview mode, clicking on that thumbtail at the upper right corner)
clicking the home button, and opening the camera app again you end up watching the recorded image again, not in
preview mode as you should do...

Cheers, nopy, keep up the good work wink
