GAOSP : Nightly build
Most people ask everyday how to build current GAOSP, how to fix some building issue..how to test.
I can understand that, you are hurry to test the unimaginable : froyo on Samsung Galaxy !
So, after a small story, from a small error given by a nice chinese guy who published his own build as public beta 3 (people didn’t understand how a public beta can be so bugged, in fact, it was not the real public beta 3), i decided to implement a sort of Nightly build. In reality, initially, it will not be “nightly” build, but, time to time build, at least one build a week. Then, we will implement an automatic process.
Be carefull with those nightly build. I will not provide any support on them. You’ll flash it at your own risk.

You can find the nightly build here : http://code.google.com/p/gaosp/downloads/list
And the how to install nightly build : http://code.google.com/p/gaosp/wiki/NightlyBuilds
Enjoy !

thanks you
love to test it.
one quick question, i understand we should not ask how to fix this and how to solve that
but should we publish bugs?

Thanks drakaz.

Thanks, just go on, don’t give up…

Its not installing. Its shows some error. Even nanoid backup didn’t backup. I thought i lost my phone. I think there’s no point in putting this up on the net. Its too risky. Please remove, will wait for a better stable release.

I will wait till the beta 3

Seeing the progress on this made me just donate a little. I wish my skills (and spare time) would allow me to participate in such a great project. For now all I can hope for is a stable release with everything working. From camera to GPS.
Please keep up the good work!

Can someone upload gapps-gaosp-froyo-signed.zip? The link is dead. Thanks…
about 1 year ago
The MU link isnt down, there is sometimes only to much traffic with that link on the same Time. You just have to refresh until the Captcha appears.

Thanks Drakaz. Nightly is very fast and stable although not the beta 3. The market dont download and install any app. I follow every day to see if the beta 3 was released.

I am glad that this is progressing well. I am still at galaxo as Camera is yet to come in gaosp. Waiting for beta- and hoping to see some more magic moments there..

Thank you, Drakaz.
I guess it’s useless to bugreport since the froyo version is in deep alpha states, but I hope everything will be ok.
Everyone, claim Samsung for the RIL drivers sources.

I don’t know how some people are able to flash this rom and i can’t. Does anyone know this why?. I really wanted to try this and feel the froyo on my Galaxy. When i flash this everything goes fine but in the end when the sync now… appears it says cant find some file in bin directry.

Didn’t test the nightly yet, keep enjoying Galxo 1.6.3. ’till Beta 3 is out. The Alpha one video looks awesome. Thanks for your work drakaz, and thanks to all contributing developers!

thanks drakaz for your great job
I tested it, its not for daily use yet
Strangely I haven’t found any major bugs yet. External SD and Camera aren’t working, but that we already knew. Also the top notification bar disappears from time to time.
Anyway a great job, I’m keeping it for daily usage
about 1 year ago
@Freddy
Could be the ADW Launcher settings. Swipe up hides and show s the notification bar.
My external sd is mapped as \mnt\sdcard2

Freddy
if you move your finger up in the home screen, the status bar show up and after few seconds will disappear again.
if you move your finger down, the notification window will show up.
sure,its annoying
also its slower than galaxo, even with super fast 128MB swap card, and JIT enable.
Whats a 128MB swap card.
Great build. installed it without any problems. Even battery-life seems to be good.
Just one thing, lock-key does not work, but the functionality is under the power-button, correct?
Harish
128MB can be very fast and cheap, so its good for swap.
langesmalle
you can enable the lock-key in the settings.
Yaron,
Thanks, found it and it works, however is it correct it’s lock functionality is not available anymore (to lock the phone) as it was in 1.x (Galaxo)?
Thanks Drakaz. Great work…
Thanks a lot! Great job!
How do you enable swap here? Or do I need something 3rd party?
As for the notification bar, I think it’s customizable, under the ADWLauncher settings > System Preferences, you can change the swipe up/down and home button behaviour
about 1 year ago
davyu
You enable swap by using compcahce in galaxo app.
its really usefull
today i didnt even noticed that there was 20 app opened in the background because of this feature (in galaxo 1.6.3.3)
Great job ! It’s working very well on my samsung galaxy.
I am using it, very stable, don’t want to go back to 1.6.3.3 Thanks Drakaz!
Very stable, I like it and use it daily…Tks…
about 1 year ago
Updated 2 days back and I love it…. as of today running good and looks stable. Thanks very much drakaz for the unimaginable froyo on Galaxy.

Haha… a new update every 2 days. Perfect!!! God Drakaz

Go Drakaz! You’re the man!
If only the camera worked on Froyo.
@drakaz since u mentioned there will be no camera support from samsung ….does tht mean we wont be able to have camera in gaosp
about 1 year ago
Samsung’s attitude is sad, thank you for your selfless dedication, I wish you success in!
if they ask a lot of samsung will give us the camera drivers

Please continue the good work.
god bless…

Im rocking Froyo nightly build 080310 and it is awesome. The speed, stability, and customization options surpass galaxo 1.6.3 significantly
Shame on Samsung for abandoning us with a buggy 1.5!
