GAOSP : Nightly build
Most people ask everyday how to build current GAOSP, how to fix some building issue..how to test.
I can understand that, you are hurry to test the unimaginable : froyo on Samsung Galaxy !
So, after a small story, from a small error given by a nice chinese guy who published his own build as public beta 3 (people didn’t understand how a public beta can be so bugged, in fact, it was not the real public beta 3), i decided to implement a sort of Nightly build. In reality, initially, it will not be “nightly” build, but, time to time build, at least one build a week. Then, we will implement an automatic process.
Be carefull with those nightly build. I will not provide any support on them. You’ll flash it at your own risk.

You can find the nightly build here : http://code.google.com/p/gaosp/downloads/list
And the how to install nightly build : http://code.google.com/p/gaosp/wiki/NightlyBuilds
Enjoy !

Enabling the 710 Mhz OC in Galaxo Config V2 on 080310 crashed my phone. Rebooting would then freeze too after 5 seconds or so. Reinstalling 080310 again fixed it.
I also had Compcache enabled with a 51200 disk size, so maybe either one or both in conjunction crashed. Anyone eager to do some further testing?
Anything else was left as is ( CPU sampling:PERF, SSH:off, OC-614:off, Renice:on, Provisioned:on, VNC:off )

I’m not sure whether to enable Compcache via Galaxo Conf or Cyanogen Setting. Or both? Hints appreciated.
Thanks!

Rotor,
Mine is working amazing at 710Mhz an Compcache enabled with the default 32MB.
However in the past I’ve seen some remarks that not all galaxy i7500 can work well with OC 710Mhz. Try 614Mhz, it might be stable.
Anyone who can explain me how to create a bigger swap in the latest GAOSP Nightly build? Tried parted in the terminal emulator as root, but I’ll get the messages that parted is not found

can someone explain the reason for setting up compcache or a swap?

@langesmalle
Thanks for the info. Tried 710Mhz again with everything else set to default but it crashed again… so yeah, I might just have one of these phones that don’t like going that fast.
614Mhz doesn’t crash immediately, but I experience a lot of “app doesn’t respond” errors, especially when using Gmaps Navigation together with any audio playback app. I guess I just skip all those “performance enhancing” settings and go with a slow, but non-crashing phone ^^

SLHOKA … don’t ask basic questions.. try to find it yourself by reading the forum, googling.. Drakaz is really busy with Android 2.2 Froyo porting for Samsung i7500..
if you are using Windows OS, here is the link to get started http://www.uht.me/galaxo/

Latest nightly works great !! Much better than the last nightly. I don’t know if you are aware, but Bell Mobility users seem to be having a problem logging into Google. Also phones signal strength seems lower ( at least lower than latest Galaxo ). I know that this is still a nightly, but previous nightly’s did not have the logging into Google issue.
Keep up the good work ! I look forward to buying you a beer or two.
